Choosing the Future: Year 9s Plan their Path with the IGCSE Information
Evening.
Recently, we hosted an informative and exciting evening dedicated to the Year 9
students and the meaningful decisions they now have to make.
Our Year 9 IGCSE Subject Information Evening was a resounding success, offering
students and parents a valuable opportunity to engage with the secondary
teachers and learn more about the wide array of IGCSE subjects available at
KNES. The evening served as a critical step in helping students make informed
decisions about their subject choices for Year 10 and beyond - a decision that
holds significant weight in shaping their future academic and career paths.
Throughout the event, teachers shared insights into the
content, structure, and expectations of their respective subjects, providing
guidance tailored to each student’s strengths and aspirations. Parents were
actively involved in discussions, asking insightful questions and collaborating
with teachers to support their children’s decision-making process.
One of the most exciting aspects of the evening was the
introduction of potential new subjects that may soon be offered. Among these,
Psychology sparked the most enthusiasm, with students eager to explore this
fascinating field of study. The possibility of expanding our curriculum
reaffirms the school’s commitment to providing diverse and relevant academic
opportunities, ensuring that every student finds subjects that resonate with
their interests and career goals.
The event emphasized the importance of making thoughtful,
well-researched choices, and we are confident that the guidance provided during
the evening has empowered our Year 9 students to take this important step in
their lives with confidence and clarity. We look forward to seeing the impact
of these decisions as they embark on their IGCSE journeys.
