Omar Swimming Competition Boys and Girls 2020
The Omar memorial swimming competition was held on the
10th of February for boys and the 11th for girls. This is
the fourth consecutive year this competition has been held. In the first year
of the competition students of KNES participated against each other. The
following two years we invited 1 school to participate in the event. This year
we invited three schools Bayan Bilingual School, Gulf English School, and
Cambridge English School to participate in the boy’s event. In the girls event
we had to guests participating this year Cambridge English School and Gulf
English School.
The competition is growing in stature and we hope on
improving every year. Parents from all schools participating were invited and
attendance of those parents supporting their children was particularly
pleasing. There was over 15 events/races on both days and medals were given out
to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes in the
respected races. Winners were given the opportunity to stand on a podium and
receive a medal by the director of the school Madam Chantel Al Gharabally.
The event as a whole was a success and the swimmers
give their all to represent their school in the best way possible. I would like
to thank all parents for attending the event and supporting their children. We
hope to have more successful events like this looking forward.
