Book Week Activities 2025
Our school celebrated Book Week with a variety of engaging
and meaningful activities aimed at encouraging reading, creativity, and
personal growth. The week began on Sunday April 27th, with “Pajama
Day,” where kindergarten, first, and second grade students enjoyed bedtime
stories with a “grandmother” figure, while also learning about bedtime
routines.
On Monday, we hosted Professor Nour Al-Mutawa from Kuwait
University for a workshop titled “Planning for Success,” where sixth and
seventh graders learned how to manage their time and set priorities to achieve
their dreams. Tuesday focused on twins, highlighting their unique experiences,
followed by a story reading and discussion on the importance of safe internet
use.
On Wednesday, we held a literary gathering with children’s
author Amal Al-Randi, founder of the "Friends of the Library"
initiative, and renowned poet Saadia Mufarreh, whose poetry appears in the
national curriculum. We also organized the 'Crazy Hats' activity, where
students used recycled materials to create fun hats, promoting environmental
awareness. Additionally, seventh-grade students performed a puppet theatre
reading for students with special needs, creating an inclusive and joyful
experience. The week concluded on Thursday ( BOOK CHARACTERS DAY) with an
awards ceremony under the theme “Achieve Your Dream,” where outstanding
students in reading, creative writing, and photography competitions were
recognized with certificates and gifts.
