Year 12 trip to the Kuwait National Library
Our Year 12 students recently had the privilege of embarking
on a fascinating journey to the Kuwait National Library, and it proved to be an
unforgettable experience.
The visit offered a unique glimpse into the world of
knowledge and preservation. Students were captivated by the library’s archives
which showcase a wealth of history and culture. They explored specialized
equipment used for braille, LP players, and even VHS converters. This sparked
conversations about the evolution of technology and accessibility.
One of the highlights of the trip was discovering an
underground time capsule. This intriguing artifact is set to be opened only in
about 100 years from now. This left our students in awe of the forward-thinking
vision behind it.
The trip was both educational and enjoyable and provided
students with an appreciation for the library’s role in preserving history
while adapting to modern needs. It was a day of discovery, learning, and a bit
of fun—a true reminder of the importance of libraries in our lives.
