KS1 and KS2 Assembly on the school’s Mission Statement
On Thursday, 19 September 2024, KS1 and KS2 students
participated in an assembly centered around the school’s mission statement.
This assembly was designed to engage students in understanding and embodying
the core values that the school promotes. The assembly also aimed to clarify
what each component means in practical terms for daily life at school and
beyond. The focus areas included being part of one human family, respect,
taking care of our Earth home, the use of “magic words,” building humanity,
quotes related to these themes, and the overall meaning of the mission
statement. The concept of being part of one human family emphasized inclusivity
and unity among all individuals regardless of their backgrounds. This theme
encouraged students to recognize their shared humanity and fostered a sense of
belonging within the school community as well as in the broader world. Students
discussed what it means to show respect towards peers, teachers, and
themselves. The assembly included discussions about sustainability practices
such as recycling, conserving energy, and protecting wildlife. The phrase
“magic words” typically refers to polite expressions such as “please,” “thank
you,” and “sorry.” These words are essential for fostering positive
interactions among individuals. Students engaged in a sketch that highlighted
how using these words can enhance relationships and create a more supportive
community. The assembly also included famous quotes about respect, unity,
environmental care that resonate with young learners. This assembly served as
an educational platform for KS1 and KS2 students to explore important values
that contribute not only to their personal development but also to creating a
harmonious school environment.
