Primary Global Citizenship Assemblies
What Makes a Good Global
Citizen
At Kuwait National English
School, preparing students to be good global citizens is an important part of
our schools guiding statements and curriculum and it is essential to instil in
them the values and qualities that contribute to being a responsible member of
the global community. The Primary assembly held this week for KS1 and KS2 students aimed
to educate and inspire young minds to understand their role in making the world
a better place through acts of kindness, empathy, and respect for diversity.
The assembly began with a
captivating introduction highlighting the importance of being a global citizen
and how students can make a positive impact on the world by embracing global
citizenship. Power Point Presentations included images, quotes, and key points
that highlighted the values of compassion, tolerance, environmental
stewardship, and cultural awareness. Songs and Poems added a creative touch to
the assembly where students performed songs and recited poems that conveyed
messages of unity, peace, and understanding. These artistic expressions
resonated with the audience reinforcing the idea that small actions can lead to
significant change on a global scale. Encouraging Posters with motivational
quotes and colorful illustrations displayed during student presentations created
an uplifting atmosphere. These posters served as visual reminders of the values
associated with being a good global citizen and inspired students to embody
these principles in their daily lives.
The assembly on “What makes
a good Global Citizen” served as an opportunity for students to reflect on
their roles in promoting positive change in the world. By fostering empathy,
respect, and social responsibility, young learners are empowered to become
active participants in creating a more inclusive and sustainable global
community.
