Parental meetings (feedback), Award of Achievements, Examinations, Job Shadow, field trips & Activities.

Dear Secondary Parents,

It has been fantastic to welcome all of our students back to Kuwait National English School this month. Attendance and punctuality have significantly increased, and I look forward to us working collectively to maintain this higher standard as the term progresses. The second term is much shorter than the first term, we only have thirteen school weeks until the Spring holidays. There is also the Holy month of Ramadan starting in March; with reduced teaching days!  Our advice is to make sure every day count.

Parental meetings (feedback):

Last week we had our second Parents’ Evening. The attendance was absolutely fantastic and we are very pleased to see so many of our parents joining us to get feedback from teachers and to discover more of what they are learning in lessons. Parents’ Evenings are such an important opportunity for us to work in partnership with you.

Award of achievements:

We are excited to honor our students’ hard work during the first term examination in December 2023. Congratulations to the stars of each year group. The outstanding young learners in each group are as follows:

Year 7:  Jelnar Kamal Hana (1^st), Hamad Mohammed Abul (2^nd) & Yara Al Sawas (3^rd).

Year 8: Yara Mohammad Salman (1^st), Salma Samer Abdel Khader (2^nd) & Talin Ahmad Al Zouhairy (3^rd).

Year 9: Issam Mohamad Rabi El Halbouni (1^st), Mohamad Farouq El Eit (2^nd) & Jouri Osama Rassas (3^rd).

Year 10: Kenan Mohamad Al Chater (1^st), Mohamed Amro El Heshary (2^nd) & Sultan Ali Hassan Ali (3^rd).

Year 11: Zade Ahlat (1^st), Mohamad Nasser El Sayed (2^nd) & Sanad Yousef Yousef (3^rd).

Year 12: Meshari Al Shammari (1^st), AlAbbas Imad Al Shareeda (2^nd) & Mohammed Jamal Al Foudari (3^rd).

External Examination from the United Kingdom – June 2024 session:

The next few weeks will be very important for our students taking part in External examinations from the UK. Our aim is to give them the very best chance of success so that they can fulfil their academic potential and give them the opportunity to move on to the range of ambitious destinations and careers for their university studies.

Secondary Second term Examination (April 01, 2024 – April 09, 2024):

The secondary second term examination will start on the 1^st of April 2024 and will end on the 9^th of April 2024. The final examination timetable will be given to students/parents as soon as the Holy month of Ramadan starts.  

Job shadow and Educational field trips:

Job Shadow: We already had two job shadow workshops which include a range of activities:

o   Innovation camp Workshop – “Creating Business Ideas Enterprise.” (Jan. 14, 2024)   Year 10

o   Google Artificial Intelligence (Jan. 21, 2024) - Year 11 & 12.

Field Trips: Some of the exciting educational trips this term are:

§  Cadillac Al Ghanim Service Centre. (Y10 & 12, Jan 23, 2024).

§  Water Treatment Plant – Al Irdardilya. (Y9 & 12, February 2024).

§  Coastal Development – Keran  (Y8, February 2024)

Activities/Challenges/Tournaments:

The following interesting educational activities will take place this term: International Day celebration, Kuwait National Day celebration, STEM Challenge, English Quizzes, Art challenges, Robotics tournaments, Volleyball League, Unihoc tournaments, UK Mathematics Challenges & GUST Mathematics Competitions.
