Information from the Assistant School Director
Dear Parents:
Introduction: A lot has been going on at Kuwait National English
School since the New Year. We have had our traditional events: Parent Teachers
conference, International Day, Concerts, Year 9 Options evening, Valentine day
celebration, Science fair, our talented students in KS4 & 5 attempted the
United Kingdom Mathematics Challenges 2023, registration of our secondary
students to sit external examination from Cambridge/Edexcel/Pearson etc. We
look forward to many more fun-filled events for the rest of the second term and I sincerely hope that this letter
helps keep you abreast of all that is happening at KNES. As always,
please continually refer to our website and Instagram for information and
calendar updates, and feel free to contact us via the reception or email if you
have questions.

Holidays and Major School Events
Monthly Progress Report (January 2023, February 2023, March
2023):
Monthly Progress
Report for the month of January has already been posted on the student portal.
In a few days, the monthly report of February will be sent to parents. Remember
that we only send electronic copies of reports.
STEM Lab (Robotics classes):
Following the
successful educational trip and workshop to the American University of the Middle
East (AUM) Robotic centre, during which a professional robotics instructor taught
our Year 10 and 11 Computer science students, we have created a fully equipped STEM
lab (Robotic) and offering one lesson of robotics for Years 9, 10 and 11 at the
school this academic year. More lessons will be scheduled as the year
progresses.
Second Term Examination for secondary
students (March 30, 2023 - April 05, 2023):
The second term examination for the
secondary department will take place from Thursday March 30, 2023 - April 05,
2023. The results will be sent to
parents/students on Tuesday April 18, 2023.
Secondary Educational Trip to Italy
during the National Day holidays (February 2023):
A
selected group of Kuwait National English School students will soon be spending
a week in Italy, soaking up art, history, and theatre on an exceptional
learning trip connecting their in-class learning to real-world experiences.
Secondary Sports Day (Thursday 9th
of March 2023):
The Physical Education department
will be organizing the Secondary Sports Day on Thursday 9th of March.
The Holy month of Ramadan (March 23,
2023 – April 20, 2023):
The Holy month of Ramadan is
expected to start on March 23, 2023 and will end on April 20, 2023. A revised
Ramadan timing of the day will be sent to parents shortly.
Cambridge/Edexcel/Pearson External
Examination June 2023 session (March 11, 2023 - June 28, 2023):
The external examination will start
on March 11, 2023 and will end on June 16, 2023. The contingency date is the 28th
of June 2023. More details will be communicated to students sitting the
examinations.
Release of
results: Cambridge [AS &
A Level – August 10, 2023] [IGCSE – August 16, 2023],
Pearson/Edexcel {IAS & IAL- August 17, 2023} {IGCSE
- August 24, 2023}.
We are
rapidly approaching our National Day holiday (February 23, 2023 - March 02,
2023), and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you an enjoyable, safe
and relaxing break.
