EYFS - Primary Transition Day Dec 2022
The Reception Children and the Year One Students got together
for a Transition Class. Transition activities are planned throughout the year
to help the children prepare and progress next year to new expectations and routines. Each child from Reception was paired up with a
child from Year One. The reception children were invited to listen to the Year 1
children reading their reading book. The Year One students were encouraged to
read aloud and asked simple questions to the reception children relating to gain and understand comprehension. The Reception children
were then encouraged by their book mate to read to them with the Year One assistance.
The reading levels for all the children
both in Reception and Year One was impressive and we look forward to watching the
development over this year.
