Yr 11 & Yr 12 Students, Job Shadow: Owning Our Future at RSM, Kuwait
On
Thursday 27th October 2022, our grade 11 and 12 students were
invited to a site visit to RSM, Kuwait one of the oldest and most
trusted public accounting firms in Kuwait. Well known for their sustainable
business model based on diverse services to innovative operational platforms
including ISO-certified IT infrastructure, business continuity and crises management,
cloud-based analytical platform and technology-driven workflow all of which
make RSM a modern and efficient corporate with a large client base.
Our students got the
opportunity to listen and learn from some of the experts in the field. The
focus of the Job Shadow was Owning Our Future and RSM had some very
interesting information about global citizenship and sustainable development to
share with our students. The top management experts were impressed with our
students for having been part of the UNESCO sponsored Global Goals Competition.
The day started of with Mr.
Sriram Gopalakrishnan (Audit/Assurance) talking about Auditing and what it
involved. Then Mr. Rami Wadie (Risk Advisory) spoke about the risks and
how RSM manage and counsel businesses about the market risks. Then Mr.
Kareem Abu Eid (Sustainability services) spoke of sustainability and why
it’s important for businesses to contribute to society. This topic was
particularly interesting as it is a key unit in the business studies
curriculum. Finally, Mr. Tuhin Chaturvedi (Tax Services) gave some
insight in to the tax structure in Kuwait.
Overall students came
back more informed and enlightened and were able to link their theory studies
with practical knowledge from the real world of finance and accounting.
