Dear Secondary parents and students,

Re: Punctuality, Second Term Secondary Examinations, Ramadan timing & IGCSE/AS/A/IAS/IAL External Exams from the UK

Introduction: Welcome back after the National day holiday. I hope you all had a great break and the children are eager to be at school and learn! We are still navigating through this unprecedented, detrimental impact on education by COVID and adapting to the continuous changing world.

Reminders on punctuality in the morning:

Everyday our doors open at 7:00 am so that our secondary school day can start promptly with registration at 7:15 am. Secondary day finishes at 2:25 pm for KS3 and 3:30 pm for KS4 & KS5.  We would like to remind you of the importance of attendance and punctuality and ask that you make every effort to bring your child to school every day and collect them on time. If you are late in the morning you will need to go to the front desk at the Reception where the admin staff will see you. Remember though that your child will be marked as late after 7:15 am by the social worker!

Dates for your diary:

Our second term has been very productive and we would like to keep the momentum going until the end of this academic year. Up till now it has been a fantastic term. Please find below some of the highlights for the rest of the second term:

March 13, 2022              Summer Uniform

March 24 – 29, 2022       Secondary second Term Examinations

March 30, 2022              Start of External Examination {Cambridge/Edexcel/Pearson}

March 31, 2022              End of Second Term

April 03 – 07, 2022         Spring Holiday

April 10, 2022                Start of Third Term

April 14, 2022                Second Term Examination reports will be sent to parents/students

Secondary Second Term Examination Time table:

Our Secondary Second Term Examinations have been scheduled as follows:

KS3 - starting from Thursday March 24, 2022 and ending on Tuesday March 29, 2022.

Y11, 12 & 13 – beginning from Sunday March 20, 2022 to finishing on Tuesday March 29, 2022.

The schedules of our Second Term examinations will be shared by your form tutors, on the school website, in our weekly newsletter and placed on Team Education.  

Secondary Ramadan Timing:

UK External Examinations (IGCSE/AS/A/IAS/IAL) May/June 2022 session - {March 30 – June 23, 2022}

Presently we have already registered our students to take part in their external examinations from the UK. The students have been given a copy of their statement of entry. Kuwait National English School is a centre of examinations and all our students will sit their examinations in our school theatre on campus.  

March 30, 2022 – April 20, 2022:        Languages oral exams, Art & Design practical, IT practical.

April 27, 2022 – June 23, 2022:            Written external examinations.  

June 29, 2022:                                          Contingency date for external examinations
