School News from the Head of Secondary March 2021

24 Mar 2021

Dear Secondary parents,

Re: Reflections on the pandemic and reopening plans

At Kuwait National English School, our staff have worked extra hard to adapt our instructional and assessment materials in the light of COVID-19 and our students have really shown resilience by the way they have embraced a different way of learning. I am sure that KNES students handled the online synchronous learning challenge quite well. However, our students definitely missed their school; they miss their friends, teachers and classroom. Schools are central to children’s development, safety and well-being. School children rely on their school as a place where they can interact with their peers, seek support, enjoy socio-economic factors, hygiene services, psychosocial support and more.  We must continue to invest in children’s education and prioritise reopening schools. Returning to the richness of an in-person school experience must be the way forward.
