Girls Benchball Tournament October 2019

The girl’s year 5 & 6 Benchball team played their first tournament of the year on Wednesday 16th of October at the American Baccalaureate School in Khaitan. The girls got off to an exhilarating start winning their first game 4-1. Unfortunately the next two schools our team faced were challenging opponents and we lost 2 consecutive matches. After tough team talk and a change in roles and tactics the girls soon found their form again by only narrowly drawing on their 4th match and winning their 5th match. 

The tournament was scored by number of goals scored and number of goals conceded which left our team with a 4th place.

We couldn’t have won our matches if it wasn’t for our team of truly talented players. We had courageous defending from Lamar Salem, Bushra Essa and Rawan Walid who were often up against very physical opponents. We also performed a barrage of goals scored in each match from precise passing and shooting from Aseel Rizk, Zahra Zad, Maha Midtimbang and Jana Motaz. Finally our team couldn’t have competed if it wasn’t for the continual efforts of Asrar Issa, Lea Houssam and Selene Al Naki’s constant pressure to get the ball from the opponents.
