Activities/Events, Summer uniform, Month of Ramadan & Celebration of Kuwait National Day.

Dear Secondary parents,

I am writing to you as we approach the mid-term of the second term of this academic year. This term it has been wonderful to see the learners participate in so many different activities both inside and outside the classroom.

Secondary Activities and Events:

Ø Annual STEM Challenge (February 05, 2024): Students had to design, develop and construct a working model of their projects. The final product was then displayed and judged by the teachers, Form tutors, Mr. Bernie and Mr. Meshari.  Judging criteria were based on the design, construction and team dynamics. The winners of the STEM Challenge 2024 were rewarded for their creativity.

Ø English Quiz (February 10, 2024): The English department produced a Quiz competition for the students. The winners of the different year groups were rewarded.

Ø House points: Certificates were awarded for House points which we traditionally give to students who produce high quality work and effort.

Ø  Public Lecture on ‘Search for life on Mars’ – (Feb. 14, 2024).

Our Secondary students attended this lecture at Kuwait University.  Mr. Kashif accompanied our students.

Ø  University visit - Q8EduEx KUWAIT – (Feb. 15, 2024).

Y11 & 12 attended this important university fair and exhibition in Misref. They received updated information and guidance which will help them in planning their further education and career paths. Mr. Charlton, Mr. Omar and Mr. Mahmoud were with our students.

Ø  Field Trip to the Water Treatment Plant, Al Irdardilya (Feb. 19, 2024).  Year 11 & 12 students will visit the water purification plant in Irdardilya. Mr. Charlton and Mr. Sayed will be with our pupils.

Ø  Kuwait National Day celebration - (11:00 - 12:00, February 21, 2024).

The Arabic & Islamic Departments will celebrate this auspicious day in the school theatre.

Ø  Overseas Trip to Switzerland – (Feb. 22 – Feb. 28, 2024).  33 Secondary students will participate in this event abroad. They will be accompanied by Mr. Chacko, Mr. Charlton and Ms. Gaythree.

Ø  Art challenge – (March 04, 2024). Ms. Aida is planning this interesting activity.

Ø  Secondary Annual Sports Day - (March 05, 2024). Mr. Tamer and his team will plan the day.

Summer uniform (Sunday March 10, 2024): Students must be wearing their summer uniform as from March 10, 2024.

Holy Month of Ramadan (March 2024): The Month of Ramadan will start next month. More details about the timing of lessons will follow.

Celebration of the 63^rd Kuwait National Day - February 25, 2024.

National day is a day of pride for everybody. Kuwait holds a special place in all our hearts, and we very much appreciate the warmth it shows to all of us. To celebrate this auspicious day, KNES is holding many interesting activities. On behalf of Kuwait National English School, I would like to wish everybody a Happy Kuwait National Day 2024 celebration.
