Grade 10 students attend a JOB SHADOW session at GULF BANK

Kuwait National English School undertook a Job Shadow session at The Gulf Bank on Sunday 7th may 2017. The event was organized with INJAZ and students of year 10 were involved in the 3 hour session. It was a positive work experience session and students were introduced to a myriad of banking operations and behind-the-scene activities of a typical bank. An interesting topic was the Business banking department. Students understood how bank loans for business start-ups were sanctioned and the entire procedure was explained in detail by the Branch Manager Mr. Ahmed Baqer. Mr. Baqer was impressed by the students’ questions and complimented the students on their awareness of many aspects of banking. Students also learned the organizational structure of the Gulf bank.

Later in the day the students had an exciting chat with the young Relationship Manager of the Hawally branch of Gulf bank Mr. Hussain Malek. Students learned about how customer issues were handled and the training that the bank gave its employees to deal with customer issues. Students also got to go around the bank and observe the employees going about their daily duties and dealing with the customers.

All in all students benefitted immensely from the trip and have gained valuable information that can be linked to their study of business and accounting.
