Kuwait National English School students unforgettable Spanish Trip

An unforgettable journey to a country of colour and contrast where old world charm meets modernity. That then was what the Spain trip was all about. A journey to Vibrant Barcelona and Majestic Madrid were the highlights of this year’s Kuwait National English School educational trip to Spain; a country of joy, character and hospitality.

At Kuwait National English School, we have a rich tradition of providing students with the opportunity to explore the world as a group and learn the cultural diversity of our world. In the past we have had some great trips arranged to France, Switzerland, Sri Lanka , Dubai, Egypt, Qatar and Bahrain and this year was Spain. On the 22nd of February 2017 a group of 35 students and 3 staff flew to Spain for a never before overseas school trip. It was a discovery tour and the students had an experience of a lifetime.

Our football crazy Kuwait National English School students were exposed to the aura of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Students got to enter the Camp Nou Stadium in Barcelona and the Bernbeau Stadium in real Madrid. The museum, the trophy gallery and the breath-taking stadium itself sent our kids in to a frenzy which concluded with a shopping spree at the store. It was FCB and Real Madrid all the way.

Apart from that students also got to see and witness amazing architecture and the history hidden within the walls  of famous landmarks like the Park Güell and the breathtaking Sagrada Familia Cathedral; both works of architectural brilliance of the famous Antoni Gaudi. Students also visited the imposing Cathedral of Barcelona created in true Gothic style and the rich history of Gothic architecture very evident in every frame of this landmark structure.

Finally some royalty, as our KNES students visited The Royal Palace of Madrid, Palacio Real de Madrid, which is the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family at the city of Madrid. The 135000 square feet royal residence is unique in its splendour and resplendent in all its past glory. Students understood that the palace at present is still being used for state ceremonies.

So it was a week of fun and learning and our students returned to Kuwait having acquired great knowledge and understanding of other cultures which was the main focus of this trip. Students now look forward to next year’s trip with much enthusiasm.
