Kuwait National English School Wins Accolades from the INJAZ Company Program Competition 2018
Saturday the 21st of April 2018 turned out to be a big night for Kuwait National Engglish School at the INJAZ Company Program Competition 2018. The grand finale, ending months of hectic business activity by the students, was held at the Salwa Sabah Al Ahmed Ballroom and showcased some of the best junior entrepreneur business start-ups from various schools from all over Kuwait. The evening turned out to be a grand one for our school.
BIOTENSILS, the company conceived and started by our student group was widely perceived to be winners due to its unique product idea and the social aspect associated with it. Team BIOTENSILS was nominated for all three prizes on offer and ended up winning the Most Innovative Business trophy and The Best Social Impact award as well as finishing runners-up in the student business of the year award. The business idea involved reducing the use of plastic utensils and substituting them with eco-friendly, bio-degradable wooden utensils. Upon disposal these utensils embedded with plant seeds in them grow in to plants thereby creating a more environment friendly alternative to plastic. The judges loved the idea and the concept landed us the prestigious Best Social impact award. Well done to team KNES!
The finals, spread over two days included booth set-ups. Presentations, and Interviews by a panel of seasoned individuals from the corporate world. The student company had 22 members and the top management included Ammer Abu Amriah ( CEO), Rawan Al Shafei (CFO), Pouya Masjedi (HR), Mariam Gaad (Sales), Rayyan AlAyyoub ( Product Development), Ibrahim Al Hadiya (HR), Qais AlAlami (COO) and Retaj Al Shafei (Marketing). It was a great show of team work, dedication and participation and in the end our students and their company stood out. Well done to the team and this further reinforces the school as a major player in the field of quality education. Students engage in a variety of extra-curricular activities and enhance their learning experience. We thus strive to prepare them for the real world. Looking forward to next year’s competition.
